Get to Know Us
Play It Forward began when our founder Mallory Smith realized how many people in her community did not have access to music. Music played a big part in her life while she was a foster child. It was what pushed her to keep a good attitude through hard times.

While in the foster homes, Mallory and her house mates would swap CD's and vinyls to listen to each other's music. It then occurred to her that not every could afford to listen to and learn music. Lessons are expensive as well as CD's and vinyls. She wanted to create an organization that offered free music across her city.

Fast forward 5 years later, Mallory has opened 6 locations across the U.S. She continues to work advocating for foster children through CASA and will continue her work at Play It Forward with no intentions of stopping anytime soon.
